JOB DESCRIPTION

As DPO Master, your role is to oversee the safe and efficient operation of the vessel, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices. You will be responsible for managing the vessel's navigation, cargo operations, and overall safety while utilizing dynamic positioning technology to maintain vessel position and stability during offshore operations.

Key Responsibilities

Vessel Operation and Safety :
-Assume overall command and responsibility for the vessel, its crew, and operations.
-Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations, flag state requirements, and company policies.
-Safely navigate the vessel to and from offshore locations, taking into account weather conditions, vessel stability, and other relevant factors.
-Monitor and maintain all safety systems and equipment on board.
-Conduct regular safety drills, trainings, and briefings for the crew.
-Implement and promote a strong safety culture on board.

Dynamic Positioning (DP) Operations :
-Utilize dynamic positioning systems to maintain vessel position and stability during offshore operations, such as supply operations to offshore platforms.
-Monitor DP systems and alarms to ensure proper functioning and respond to any alarms or system failures.
-Supervise the DP operators and provide guidance on DP operations.
-Collaborate with the Chief Engineer and Chief Officer to ensure effective coordination between DP operations, cargo operations, and vessel movements.

Cargo Operations :
-Oversee the loading, stowage, and discharge of cargo, including supplies, equipment, and materials.
-Ensure compliance with relevant cargo handling procedures and regulations.
-Coordinate with the client's representative and other personnel involved in cargo operations.
-Supervise the ballasting/de-ballasting operations to maintain vessel stability during cargo transfer.

Crew Management and Leadership :

-Lead and manage the vessel's crew, including deck officers, engineers, ratings, and other personnel.
-Provide guidance and mentorship to the crew, ensuring their professional development and compliance with company policies.
-Conduct performance evaluations and address any personnel issues or conflicts.
-Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, safety, and operational excellence.

Documentation and Reporting :

-Maintain accurate records and documentation related to vessel operations, safety, and crew activities.
-Prepare and submit reports to the company, authorities, and clients as required.
-Ensure compliance with vessel record-keeping requirements, including logbooks, incident reports, and maintenance records.

REQUIREMENTS

- II/2 Master Unlimited license (over 3000Gt)
- Proven extensive experience on board DP2 AHTS in Master position
- Full DP Certificate
- Fluent English
- COVID-19 vaccination
- Yellow Fever vaccination
